PRESS RELEASE / AUGUST 25, 2026

Canada Music Council™ Announces Strategic Plans for Toronto Music Week™ — August 13–15, 2027.

The planned three-day Toronto initiative will bring together live music, nightlife, culture and industry programming across the city.

TORONTO, Ontario — August 25, 2026 — Canada Music Council™ today announced strategic plans for the launch of Toronto Music Week™, a three-day citywide music and culture initiative scheduled for August 13–15, 2027 in Toronto, Canada.

Toronto Music Week™ is being developed as a connected platform for live music, nightlife, culture and music-industry activity across the city. The planned format is designed to bring together artists, audiences, venues, industry professionals, cultural organizations and businesses through a combination of performances, industry programming and city-based experiences.

A citywide platform for music and industry

The strategic plan reflects a broader ambition to strengthen Toronto’s position as a destination for music, culture and creative business. Programming is expected to span live performances, club and nightlife experiences, talks and industry sessions, cultural programming and opportunities that connect the music sector with the wider city economy.

Toronto Music Week™ is planned for August 13–15, 2027. Additional information regarding participating venues, programming, artists, partners, industry sessions and access will be announced as planning progresses.

“Toronto has the talent, cultural depth and global connectivity to support a music week with a distinctive Canadian identity. Our strategic focus is to build an initiative that creates meaningful value for artists, audiences, industry leaders and the city while strengthening the long-term music ecosystem around them.”

Mikhail Farquharson
Chairman, Canada Music Council™

“Toronto Music Week™ is being designed as a citywide experience rather than a single-room event. The operating plan brings together live programming, nightlife, industry activity and cultural experiences so that artists, professionals and audiences can engage with Toronto through multiple formats over three days.”

Samuel Robertson
VP Operations, Toronto Music Week™

Building toward August 2027

Early planning is focused on venue development, artist and program strategy, industry participation, city partnerships, audience experience and operational infrastructure. The initiative is intended to create opportunities for Canadian and international music communities while supporting Toronto’s broader cultural and visitor economy.

Toronto Music Week’s public platform currently outlines a three-day format connecting music, nightlife, culture, art, food, fashion, hospitality and industry programming across Toronto. Further announcements will be published through the official Toronto Music Week™ website as the 2027 program develops.
